The original bronze version of this piece is documented in The Book of Hungarian Metalwork. The original plates were cast in the late 19th century. This wall plate is a ceramic replica, produced for an exhibition held in 1979.
An excellent and evocative theme depicting shepherds on the Hungarian Puszta, sharing a meal, capturing the atmosphere of traditional rural life.
